Poonam Heryani is a leading, award winning expert in Education, based in UAE. For over three decades she uses her skills to support colleagues who work directly with children, parents and teachers; she also works with organisations that provide services and expertise to children and families. She is passionate about quality in Education, especially Early Years, she works towards ensuring that children receive the best possible care to help them reach their full potential. Poonam is an education leader and aspiring edupreneur who has served in various capacities, as consultant, principal, curriculum specialist, mentor, teacher and a thought leader, she is highly regarded as a trainer and mentor. She has led and conducted numerous workshops for school educators and leaders across India and Middle East. She regularly contributes to the local newspapers and publications and regularly speaks at national and international platforms. A Gold Medallist with a degree in Master of Science in Education (MSED) and Research with specialization in Teacher Leadership from Richard Riley College of Education, Walden University, USA, currently Poonam’s area of interest is “How leadership practices in a school can impact the learning and achievement of students”. Under her guidance and leadership, the schools she has been associated with are rated amongst the top 25 emerging schools in the Middle East, outstanding by the government entities and awarded for innovative learning strategies, best school and school administration. She has led the school teams to create new age curriculum and pedagogy which has earned recognition at GESS Education Awards in the category of Best use of ICT in the classrooms. School’s physical education curriculum was rated amongst the top ten in UAE. Currently she is heading the Teacher Training and Education vertical – TAITO, Westford Education which has presence in UAE and UK. Poonam’s future focus is on establishing a small start-up school with Conceptual Designs for Curriculum and Higher Order Instruction with action packed visible learning, clear perspectives, courageous insights and transformative practices.
